Sammy's thumb, Father's Day and Lake Tahoe

So if you can see these 2 pictures of Sammy's hand, you will see this blister.  He had it for 2 days.  We put steroid cream on it.  I had similar ones when my excema gets bad and he has excema.  That didn't work.  The fluid was building up underneath to the point of pain, so while he was sleeping Kevin and would stick it and drain it.  Started improving a bit.   Friday I took him to the doctor.....

2nd Degree Burn!  YEP!  She cut the blister off and let everything drain out.  He must have burnt it at a playground or somehting on a slide.  She said they can take up to a week to get this bad.  Seems like overnight.  Anyhow, we have a strong antibiotic cream we put on it and bandage up.  He is doing much better!

This is what we did for Daddy this year for Father's Day.  These frames have been hanging in his office at work since we moved here.  About every other year we do something different to put in the frame.  This year were silhouettes.  I love them and thing we are done changing them out.  They look great, I think, and Kevin really liked them.

Can you tell this is my underbite Sammy?  ;-)

Monday and Tuesday we went up to Lake Tahoe (SO BEAUTIFUL!) with Kevin.  He had a conference up there so we tagged a long.  This is our view from the hotel room.  That is Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada Mountains that we are up in.

Kids swam and swam and swam.....

And swam and swam for 5 hours total! Bunch of little raisins!

This is Emerald Bay.  Can't capture how blue the water is.  We had 3 hours between check out and Kevin's conference ending so we decided to go on a hike.  Emerald Bay was on the way.

The kids on the hike. Tahoe in the background.

We found lots of Sugar Pine pine cones.  They are HUGE!  This one is about medium size.  At girl's camp every year there is a contest for the largest.  There have been some 24".

We got a kick out of this lizard.  See it on the upper right corner of the rock?  He was charcoal grey to black in color.  All our lizards aroudn our house are brown to blend in with the sand.  This one blends in by being black.

Our drive down the road.  Ryan has the camera at this point.  LOTS of tall pines!
This is the lighthouse we hiked to.  It was built in 1904 and at the time was the highest lighthouse at 6000+ feet elevation.  It used 24 candles to light the way for boats.  I believe there were 7 total on the lake.
