Go ahead....make my day!

So I came out of hte gym today and was talking with my friend who was sitting in her car. My van was on the next set of cars over. So they twins wanted to load up in the van so I gave Sammy my keys and looked for cars and he went across the road part and to the van. Daniel stayed a second and then started over. A car was turing right to come down our aisle. This 60+ year old man stopped, rolled down his windows and yelled at me, "Why are you letting your kids run around like ants in the parking lot? Are you stupid?" To which my big mouth replied, "They aren't running around and and yes, I guess I am stupid!" So he swung around and parked kiddie corner to my van....on my driver's side. I am done talkign with Terra, so get the kids in the car and see he is hanging out by his car. Terra sees it too and calls me back. I go get in my van and he is walking down to the back of my car, obviously to get my license plate number. He said, "You are as dumb as a rock letting your kids behave like that." I could tell he was checking out the back of my car and said to him, "Well if you feel that way, then why don't you report me." To which he said, "I just might do that!" and walked into the gym. (GREAT! Might see him again!)
I so badly wanted to ask him if he took his prunes this morning or who peed in his prunes if he DID happen to take them. Something! But I kept my mouth shut.....well most of the way shut!

I know I am not a great mother. I have a lot of room for improvement, but when perfect strangers say something to me about my kids and I totally disagree with them, I get SO MAD! If all 6 of my kids were running around the parking lot, that would be one thing. But 2 kids, one of who was waiting for him to drive by and Sammy who ran over a few seconds before he even got there....WHATEVER! So I called Kevin on the way home and he calmed me down.

So this is what I plan on doing.....I am going to make some cookies for my family and Make Their Day! Think of something you can do to make someone's day, too! It's always better to Make than Break their day! Which he didn't do either....for too long!

I better pick up a little.....the police might come by today!
Have a great day!

PS I found this shirt I might give him as a present!

The Final Results at the gym

So my trainer was kind enough to find out the scoop for me while I am on Spring Break. (Still on it....until Monday night! Kids back in school Tuesday) Anyhow, I came in second. I lost the most pounds of fat, but becuase I started out heavier than the 1st place lady, her fat loss percentage was higher, which is what the contest was. So I got 4 months free membership and a basket of goodies. I don't know what they are yet. I'll find out Monday!

I am sure I gained some back on this Spring Break! I try to be good, then I realize I am not journaling my food! Can't wait to start again on Monday!

I can't wait!

So this morning at the gym I did my final measuring and weight for hte 12 week contest they were having. I was in 2nd place at 6 weeks. Here are my final numbers:

Total lbs of fat loss: 18.4
Total lbs of muscle gain: 5.5
Total lbs on the scale: 13 lbs.

18.4 lbs of fat loss (which is the competition) if I have figured it right is 32.8% body fat loss. That is 1/3 of my body fat! WOW! I am pretty excited! Saturday everyone will have weighed and measured. So we'll see how I sit in the prize catagory! I might get a few free months of gym membership!

My partner in crime (Te) did amazing, too! I can't remember her numbers, maybe she'll post hers (hint, hint!) It has been a crazy 12 weeks! I have learned eating is 90% of my problem. But I have learned to eat better. We will see what the next few months bring as it is summer soon! More exercise outside (hiking, camping, biking, etc) but also more on teh BBQ! August 8th was my date to reach my goal weight. We'll see!

Have a great Spring Break to the Fallonites!

Another 9 year old!

So Bryce's birthday was on Monday. He is 9! Comptyn and him are the same age until June when it's Comptyn's birthday. Bryce started his count down for his birthday about 3 weeks ago. There was NO way I was going to forget his birthday as he reminded us daily how many more days! He was up at 4:45 am! TOO EXCITED! Funny boy!

So here is cute little Daniel posing for his picture with Bryce.

OF course hammy Sammy had to get in on the action.

This is my FAVORITEST picture! Bryce LOVES legos. He has wanted a Ninjago set. $60 at Wal-Mart. I found it on line for $20! This is when he opened it! I wish the sound came with it! He was one pretty excited boy!

Don't know if you know the Real Hero posters? LOVE THEM! http://www.realheroposters.com/magento/
They have ones for girls, too. Amazing paintings and the bottoms all say, "WHO IS YOUR HERO?" This is Helaman and the warriors all around and faded into the background. The artist does a great job carrying such a message and emotional pull to these paintings! Check them out!

Dancing with his penguin as we sing to him.

Blew them all out....no girl friends!....WHEW!

Happy b-day Bryce! We love you very much!

Conversations between 5 year olds

So Daniel & Sammy had a friend (Natalie) over today. They are hilarious! I thought I'd share a few of the conversations I overheard and got a few chuckles out of. The first was ALL about marriage.

D - "Natalie, I am going ot marry you."
S - "You can't marry her, I am."
D - "She is my best friend. I have to marry my best friend."
S - "She is MY best friend! I have to marry her!"
D - "Natalie, who do you want ot marry?"
N - "I will marry Daniel first and then Sammy."

At this point I was laughing. I said, "Well, you can only marry one person. And you (D&S) have to be off your missions before you can get married."

N - "Then it's secret who I am goign to marry."
D&S - chiming in together, "Please tell us" or "Tell ME who you are going to marry."

After a few minutes of coaxing, Natalie said, "OK, I will say who I am goign to marry.....DANIEL!" At this point she leans over and they embrass. Sammy (VERY upset by this decision) crossed his arms and said,

" You don't want to marry him! He lost his shoes this morning and STILL can't find them!" to which Daniel replied,

"When I am bigger, my shoes will be bigger! Then I can see them easier!"

I laughed so hard!

Then a bit later they were outside and playing some baseball. Daniel was hitting, Sammy was pitching and Natalie was assigned her job by Daniel,

"Natalie, you stand here behind me. You are hte vampire."

These guys crack me up!

Date Night & Girl's Day/Night Out

So I have had the best weekend! (until this morning, and we'll get to that!) Friday my husband arranged (amazing in and of itself) for a babysitter, reservations at Rapscallion in Reno and a date at the temple. Our 16th wedding anniversary is next week and since we will be on the road traveling for Spring Break, we thought we'd celebrate early. The restaurant was DELICOUS! Voted Reno's best restaurant for Seafood, yet Kevin still got his prime rib. They have other food. But my crab stuffed halibut was DELICOUS! We went to the temple. It was the 16th anniversary of the first time I went through. Kevin's parents were working and we were able to arrange that Kevin me thru the veil again. (Yes, he is a veil worker) Anyhow, it was a WONDERFUL experience and a wonderful night with a wonderful husband!

Then yesterday I went to Reno with 3 of my girlfriends. I have such great friends! I get in the car and Kara had made each of us one of these: (different material, so it was a hard choice!)

So cute, right? I thru my cash and debit card in there nad lost the purse! Didn't have to carry it around all night! Just my cute little wallet! Thanks Kara!
We started at Saver's (a thrift store) and spent 3 HOURS there. We were shocked when we realized what time it was. Found some fun 'new' clothes! We ate dinner a La Vecchia. It's an Italian restaurant that makes all their pasta homemade. SO yummy! I, of course, had halibut, but did sample some different flavored ravioli the other 3 girls had. Definately a date night in the future there with Kevin!

We then drove over to Charming Charlie. It's a new accessory store. HOLY COW! AMAZING! A bit overwhelming at first, but loved it! They have their products divided by colors. Necklaces, bracelets, earrings, belts, bags, shoes, etc. FUN! In this next picture (below) you will see I am wearing a head band (nothing new) but it has a flower on it! WAY NEW! I get this with a little reluctance! I am not a fruffy girl. I like my jewelry and make up, but the flower is way feminine. I was hesitant, but do like it when I see others wearing them! Any how, got a TON of compliments today in church. So thank you, Dana! I am expanding my box (not stepping out of it, just expanding!)

The next stop was Sephora next door. Then Target which we actually got kicked out of. They turned the lights out on Terra and Kara in teh dressing rooms. Luckily they felt around for their shoes and got out safe! We then drove home. We had a great 10 hours together! I have such good friends.....which leads me to today!

In a nutshell, I get yelled at at church by someone. First thing when I get there! She totally jumped to a conclusion which was wrong and then jumped down my throat. At any rate, I was't happy. But I kept thinking about this weekend and what great family and friends I DO have and I am just very grateful! I have been blessed!

This last picture is of me in my apron Terra made me. I feel it is too cute to jsut wear! Someone came over after church for dinner as his family is out of town. So I took advantage of wearing it! It says, "AMY" on the pocket and there is a cute ribbon, button thingy(sorry Terra) on the pocket. It is adorable. (Notice the flower in the hair)

So to 'steal' Terra's blog outline (I hope this is OK)

Good Things:

1. Good family
2. Great friends
3. A hug from my 5 year old as I am crying in church. (Not as discreet as I thought!)

PInewood Derby 2011 & Joseph Smith

So it is no hidden fact that I do NOT like the Pinewood derby. If all the adults stayed out of it and the kids could just have fun, I'd like it! I don't think that an 8, 9 or even a 10 year old should be objected to the WAY competitiveness that some adults make it. Sure, kids want to win. Yes, it's a grea way for them to learn the sport of being a good winner and loser. But when it's ALL about the winning, it drives me NUTS! Anyhow, there are only 3 cub scouts in our pack and 2 of them are my boyz! So we (as a den and pack leaders) decided to just have it be fun! Invited siblings and just planned on it being a fun time. No competition. Ribbons for everyone who participated. Well, didn't quite turn out that way. Had some adults show up that didn't even have kids participating and made a big deal about weight and graphite on the tires, etc. AUGH! Good thing about it.....done for another year! Kids did have fun. Here are their cars:

Nathan and his skateboard with a wolf on it.

Sammy and his police car.

Ryan and his (surprise, surprise!) Harry Potter Knight Bus

Bryce and his ice cream cone. He even put sprinkles on it. He was very funny when he decorated his!

Comptyn and his Hershey bar. Notice the bite out of it.

Daniel and his lion. Gotta love the Cricut machine!

Bryce, for school, had to do a report on someone in history that he has read about. He picked Joseph Smith. I was very pleased with his choice! He did a good job, according to his teacher. He wants me to send it into the Friend magazine. We'll see if I can figure that out! :-) So here is Joseph holding his Book of Mormon.
