Never in the history of the Lords' family......
Today in the mail we got the title to our Beast van! YAY! We have never paid off a car as we have always had to upgrade to bigger vehicles! We are WAY excited! Now flip that money over to the car and get that paid down faster! It sure it great to get good news in the mail!

Utah part 4
So if you are starting here, you might want to jump down to the twin's birthday and come forward.
So this was THE highlight of our trip! We attended a BYU basketball game! Daniel was infatuated with Cosmo! Had to know where he was at the entire time! Bryce held this sign the WHOLE game hoping to get on the Jumbo Tran screen thingy. He never got up there. I felt bad for him!
We went down court side to watch the guys warm up. Had some of Fredette and Emery. I never got a picture of my man Davies....what was I thinking?!?!
This was the beginning of the game when they introduced the players. There is a little light below the "Y"....that is Cosmo all wrapped up in Christmas lights. The kids LOVED it! The whole game was a lot of fun! All the kids were into the game, didn't get bored and still talk about it! What a fun way to bring in the New Year! (the game was January 1st!)
So that was our trip to Utah! Back to reality and 2011.....Happy New Year to you all!

Utah part 3
So Thursday was a relaxing day. We started by going to the laundry mat and washign all our clothes. I only packed for 1/2 a week. A full weeks of clothes for 8 people was too much to pack! We hit a few DIs (Deseret Industries....thrift stores! LOVE THEM!) We also went to a movie theater! We saw that Owls of Ga'hoole (or soemthing like that). Gotta love Utah's $1.50 a ticket movie theaters!!!
Later that evening we went to Temple Square in Salt Lake City. If you have never been there, it is worth the trip! It seems like every branch on teh tree has a light on it. It is so beautiful! We haven't been in 5 years, so there have been some changes, too!

They had these lumiere bags all over Temple Square with different languages on them. You can see this one says 'Joy'. But I can't read the language.
These were GORGEOUS and if I could find some for my house, I would buy them! These had all different LDS scenes on them! Nativity, scripture stories, and other things. If I could find these to buy, I would be buy them for my house! SO beautiful!
This is the nativity that is 'floating' in the Reflection pond in front of the temple. There are little voltive candles that are floating around the nativity, too. So pretty!
So that was Thursday!
Friday Kevin's brother and his family came over the Provo. We started out at the BYU art museum. There is an exhibit by Carl Bloch. A lot of his art is used through out the Church. The first picture (sorry it's so small...maybe click on it so it will get bigger) was my favorite piece. Carries a lot of emotion for me. The second picture is one of his 'famous' pieces. It was neat.
We took the kids ice skating! Here are Ryan and I. NOPE! We never fell down! This is the first time any of the kids have ever gone, but their roller blade skills kicked in and they took off!

So Sammy and Daniel sitting outside the rink. Sammy took one trip around, Daniel kept going out periodically. Just look at how thrilled Sammy was! We were there for 2 hours, but he did pretty good, still.
Kevin....only fell down twice! Still had fun, though!

This rink was used in the 2002 US Olympics. It was a pretty neat place!
And of course, we went swimming when we got back to the hotel!
That was our fun Friday!

We then headed to the Hogle Zoo! In teh winter the last week of the month is FREE! Gotta love FREE! So here are some of our favorites:
So the giraffes had all kinds of Christmas trees hanging around. Who knew they ate them?!?!
We were about half way thru the zoo when it started snowing like CRAZY! So it was a nice reprieve to stand for about 30 minutes and watch this tiger. It was active and playing in teh water with a ball and this floaty disk thing. It was fun!
After we left the zoo we went back to our hotel and went swimming. Here is my cute niece and she was curtsy-ing in her swimsuit.
The pool was AMAZING at the hotel! It was just like swimming in a giant bath! So warm and fun!
That was our first day in Utah! Slept good that night!

Utah part 1
So the week after Christmas we went to Utah for the week. We left Monday and spent hte night in Winnemucca visiting Kevin's family. We then drove the rest of the way to Provo on Tuesday. Wednesday we met up with my sister and her family. We went to Gardner Village in West Valley City. It would have been SO much more fun if we hadn't had freezing winds and snow on us! But it was still fun. We had to find 12 elves that were 'hiding' throughout the village. Here we are getting ready to start our search.

After we found all the elves we went to a candy store that gave all the kids a candy stick. This is the sign on the door when we went in. It was SO funny!
After we froze outside, we were grateful to go to an International Center (name?) and walk around inside! They had a TON of nativities, and for any of you that know me knows I was in HEAVEN! This is Sammy and cousin Nicole checking them out.
Here are some shells (egg shell on left, bird shell on right) that had nativities in them! AMAZINGLY SMALL!
This one was gorgeous! One of my many favorites! Wood is always so pretty!
They also had a ton of Christmas trees and wreaths that people donated. This one is a Fairy topiary. It was SO cute and probably everyone's favorite.
This wreath was decorated by a lady who had collected all these dolls from Russia. I can not imagine the value of these things. Other than the topiary all the other trees represented different countries. It was really neat!
They then had a gingerbread house section. About 30 different donated gingerbread houses. This was my favorite....the Salt Lake City Temple.

Christmas Day
So I heard kids at 4:45 am! We knew they'd get up early, but not THAT early. We told them they couldn't come wake us up until 7 am. About every 30 minutes we'd hear their doors open and someone would tip toe into our room to look at our alarm clock. (We baracade the hallway to the living room so they can't go out, too!)

Later that day (after eating MORE leftovers!)Kevin and I were sitting in the living room....boyz were back playing their new Harry Potter LEGO Wii game. We looked around at the mess and decided they didn't need any of this stuff! So we have decided that we are going to create memories from now on. Last year we did Broadway's Lion King down in Vegas and that was SO much fun. So this year we are going back to Disneyland! YAY! I am really excited. The scrapbook they got this year was 2007...which was the first and last time we ever went with the kids. So we are excited to go again. Hope all of your Christmas' were great, too!

Christmas Eve
So Christmas Eve we had the missionaries over, Elder Davison and Elder Burton. They are great guys! We loved having them here with us. They helped us eat some of the TON of food I prepared! YUMMY leftovers! Yes, I did use disposable dishes....SO nice for clean up! I think that is a nice tradition to start!

Then they got to hold the broom stick while the kids broke the pinata open! Neither of them got hit....they are protected while serving missions! :-)

We had a Family Home Evening after dinner. Daddy reads Luke 2, we do the pinata and have a talent show. It was a great night! Played some games afterwards. I had the thought that I have 8 more Christmas's left with my whole family together for a long time! Missions start sending them off!
