Thanksgiving

So here is our decoration crew. We made little teepees and acorns. Acorns will be shown later.

Teepees on the tables with a cup of trail mix at each seat.

Played LOTS of games!

Even in the gym....basketball, kickball, etc.

Cute little acorns we made.

Cute Comptyn!

Delicious food!

Wishbones....

for everyone.....

but since I saved them over the last 10+ years they were so brittle the tops all snaped off both sides! See Daniel & Kraigs about 10" above their bones?

Getting ready to eat.....YUM!

Decorations on the table

Played some BINGO (with prizes!) afterwards.....big success! Kids loved it and a few adults! :-)

Bryce & his prizes

Played some lightening in the gym

Sammy with 1st cousin, once removed (like you needed to know that!) Jaydin. The twins were SO cute with him. He is about 18 months old and Sammy, especially, followed him around. It was fun to watch!

Here is a buck running down Rice Road one morning. It was pretty neat. We followed it for at least a mile.

My niece Andrea was in Rexburg waiting to have their first baby (Had him 5 weeks early on Sunday) so we had a baby shower for her. Here is something her sister made fro her. The tires are diapers. There is also bibs, bottles, socks, blankets. Really cute!

And we even Skyped Andrea so she could be there. It was fun!

We played some angry birds with a human rubber band.

Here is what we had to knock down. It was fun! We learned a few things along the way we changed up. But in the end it was fun!

Projected a BYU basketball game onto the wall at the church. The boyz watching the game.

Then we played some Wii Just Dance 2. Work off some food....made room for more pie!

Here is the whole gang! Fun weekend! Missed those that couldn't attend!

Funny scripture reading

Last night Nathan was reading Ether 3:3 (YES! We are almost done! Started 10/24) Brother of Jared says: "Oh Lord, look upon me in pity...." Nathan reads: "Oh Lord, look upon me, I'm pretty"

He only read 1 verse and we giggled for about 5 minutes after that. It was pretty funny!

(make sure you read our BYU football weekend!)

Our BYU weekend

So for Veteren's Day weekend we went to Utah. We have been planning this trip for about 2 1/2 months....and it FINALLY came! Worried because we had sickness in our home for the last 3 1/2 weeks, in fact Nathan had a fever and headache when we left. We just prayed he be OK. We went to Legacy Hall on BYU campus which is the sports 'hall of fame' for all BYU athletes. Below are some pictures:

Bryce by the 1984 NCAA Football National Championship Trophy. He was pretty excited about that!
Anything with Cosmo.....Daniel is there! (3D glasses and all)

Ryan with the Coaches Trophy from the 1984 Football National Championship. He liked the crystal football on top. It was beautiful!
Cosmo and Jimmer....Daniel's 2 loves! He is palming Jimmer's basketball. :-)
This is my hand on Jeff Chatman's hand print. My tips didn't even come to his fingers! They were HUGE!
Bryce "carrying" the Olympic torch.
We went to a couple of movies on Friday. (Legacy Hall was Saturday morning.) We LOVE the $1.50 movies! Anyhow our whole family saw Cars 2. Then we split up and Daddy and the little boyz went to Lion King 3D. He said they were hilarious because they kept reaching out to grab things. The 3 older boyz and I went to Harry Potter: Deathly Hallows Part 2. We took the kids to Tucanos Brazillian Grill. It's like Rodizio's Grill, but WAY cheaper! The twins were free, other boyz were $6. Kevin and I were $14 each. So for $52 (which is actually REALLY good for a sit down dinner for our family) we had a great time! Bryce had 3 plates of food at one point and kept telling me to not turn the peg over. (The stop bringing the meat when the red is face up.....for those that aren't familiar with a Brazilian grill.) Kevin and I ate at Rodizio's when we were first married and enjoyed the salad bar at Tucanos much better!

Anyhow, Saturday night came....we bundled up and......went to the game!

Bryce, Nathan, Daniel and Sammy and walked about the stadium since we were a little over an hour early. (HAD to watch them warm up!) Under a section of bleachers they had basketball. So Nathan and Bryce both shot some hoops.

Watched some players warm up....Apo is the far left #11.
Watched the football players come out onto the field from the locker room. The boyz were SO excited to be that close to them!
Watched the tuba section warm up.
Saw a TRUE BYU fan. Even her cast screamed it!
Here we all are waiting to start! We had a sign, too. I forgot to get a picture of it. we were gonna get on TV. Our seats were only row 4 & 5. Odds were good! It read, "Oh Yes! You can be Jimmer'd in BYU football! Go Cougs!" We did get on ESPN TV, but not because of our poster.....because we were waiting to get pictures with Cosmo....which never happened.
Team running on field.

"Our" endzone. Good seats, huh? Saw a few touchdowns close up!

Daniel's BYU hat we found at DI for $1
Cosmo jumping into our section. Younger boyz were in bathroom at this time. When they came out, that is when we tried to get pictures with him. This was at the end of the 3rd quarter. Daniel was getting very frustrated because he brought a BYU football for Cosmo to sign. No kidding....2 minutes earlier I took the pen out and signed Cosmo on it for him and I was going to tell him Cosmo signed it. Who then shows up? At least I could prove he was there! Never tell Daniel I signed it! (Or Bryce.....Cosmo 'signed' a piece of paper for him ,too!) We were on TV shortly after this.

Daniel holding is Cosmo signed football and singing "Rah Rah Rah Rah Rah....GOOOOOO COugars!"

It was a fun time! Nice a relaxing even though Nathan was sick all day Friday and Daniel all day Sunday. At least we were healthy for hte game!

Our Halloween

So our Halloween consisted of some new traditions! For the first time we let the kids carve pumpkins. 6 boyz + knives never founded fun to me! But they did a good job. Most of them even enjoyed the goopy insides!

Ryan did a haunted house, aka the Addams Family house.

Bryce did an owl.

Comptyn's was a cat, Nathan's was a skeleton head and Daniel did a goofy face. Sammy drew on his a few days before. He didn't want to cut on his drawing!

For the last 2 years we have 'avoided' Halloween. 2 years ago we were in SLC with President Monson. Last year Kevin's parents moved to Reno to start their mission in the temple presidency and we were camping over there. It has been kindof nice! So I kept thinking we should probably do something, but kept putting it off. Well a week before I got sick and then passed it to other family members. So we sat at home and handed out candy and watched the Addams Family. (Trick-or-Treating was Saturday here in Fallon)

We did do a new tradition for FHE on Halloween.....dipped apples. It was SO much fun! We have some families over to join in the sugar! We did white chocolate with crushed oreos for cookies & cream. Caramel & milk chocolate. We melted red hots and did a candied red apple. We had campfire marshmallows and crushed graham crackers and a s'more. SO fun and yummy! We had fun and will definately do it again! Thanks to Koenigs, Sommers & Bartons for joining and making it so fun!

Our Dear Elder Downs......

So I am starting to hate missionary transfers! Elder Downs has been here for 4 1/2 months and our family has just grown to love him! Our boyz get so excited when he comes! They talk about things he does (lifting them up with one hand, mostly), how much University of Wyoming is not as good as BYU (he played football for UofW), etc. He goes home in 9 weeks and we were sure hoping the Lord would let him finish here in Fallon. NOPE! So he came over last night to take some pictures. Of course we all got our BYU shirts on to take pictures....he KNEW we would, so brought a UofW t-shirt to wear in the picture, too! (Actually signed it and gave it to use to keep) Anyhow, what a good young man he is! We will miss him and can't wait to see him again someday!

This is everyone tryign to make 'Y's with their fingers.....Downs has a 'W'.

My September project

I have to share what CONSUMED my entire month of September. Don't want to do it anytime soon, but glad I did. Nathan and the twins keep bugging me when I am going to do their room! Anyhow, here is 'THE BYU ROOM':

Their door:

Gotta love a Cricut and some white vinyl! Cheaper border! The "Y" is a poster board. Painted the walls.

Stripped, sanded, primed and painted beds to match. (WORSE part of the whole things!)

Made them all matching quilts with extra fabric for a throw pillow. (Yes that is how they make their beds! I don't care!)

Since we will NEVER be able to add onto our house because of the economy.....I needed to clear out the 2 dressers that were in there so they had more floor space. So made these cubbies....ended up nice, but where not well thought out. Lesson learned! Finally got done!

Shelf for Ryan's legos and things he doesn't want brother's to get to!

Quote over window from President Monson.

Surprisingly the kids REALLY are loving it. I thought they'd be more 'cool mom'....they are boys, right?! They think on the blue wall under the "Y" there needs to be the cougar fight song or a flat screen TV. Took 2 hours to do the quote! Either way.....not happening! Maybe after the holidays I will tackle their bathroom. It's in need of some TLC!
